Robert Benedict

Director of Ops and Strategy

Robert oversees organizational strategy, workflow design, and execution across people, process, and technology. He partners closely with the Executive Director, board members, and transitional pastors to clarify priorities, remove constraints, and translate strategy into disciplined execution. His efforts include strengthening service delivery models, improving reporting and insight generation, and building scalable tools and frameworks that support churches navigating change.

Prior to joining Flourish, Robert spent more than fifteen years working across sectors in healthcare, innovation, and entrepreneurship. At Providence, he founded and led a team focused on improving how patients access financial assistance, launching solutions that reduced administrative burden while improving outcomes for both patients and staff. Earlier in his career, he co-founded a global innovation consultancy, leading work with organizations including Nike, Google, NASA, and the Gates Foundation.

In addition to his work at Flourish, Robert is the founder of Finava, a platform under development that simplifies income verification for hospitals. His work reflects a continued interest in reducing friction, improving access, and building solutions that are both operationally effective and human-centered.

On a personal note, Robert experienced Flourish's work firsthand in a previous congregation. Through the care of their staff and the leadership of a transitional pastor, the church was well served, reoriented toward the Kingdom, and drawn to depend more fully on the Lord. That experience continues to shape his desire for other churches to experience the same care in seasons of transition or hardship.

Robert is an ordained Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). He is married to Catherine, and they live in Houston with their children, Frida and Xavier. He leads a city group and serves as an usher at his church. Their family enjoys music, motorcycles, and time along the Gulf, and is grateful to have Catherine’s parents living just five minutes away.
