Doug enjoys the Transitional Pastor role because it involves many of his God-given skill sets. He gets to regularly teach and preach, lead, prayerfully assess, and help problem-solve if needed. He enjoys encouraging the leaders and congregation and building trust and community all while preparing the church for its next pastor.

He has two non-ministry degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia and the University of Oklahoma. He graduated from Covenant Seminary in 2000, started the RUF chapter at the University of Oklahoma in 2001, and then he planted City Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City in 2011. He moved to Baltimore in 2022.

Doug is married to Julie, and they have four adult children. Doug enjoys editing and publishing books, baseball, live music, sailing, cooking, and writing movies.
